BankFirst at Heather Ridge Village adds unique charm and beauty to this southern development in Sioux Falls, SD. The two-story building with underground parking (51,200 total SF) has an attached single level parking ramp with underground parking (51,500 SF) to accommodate limited parking in this popular area. The main level of the building is supported by 600 LF of precast concrete beams, 300 LF of precast concrete columns and a total of 19,400 SF of 8 and 12 deep corefloor. The parking ramp, designed for fire truck loading, is framed with 230 LF of precast concrete beams, 160 LF of precast concrete columns, 500 SF of 8 corefloor and 21,300 SF of double tees. The challenge in the layout of the structural precast came at the slope requirements of the corefloor at the banks drive through located on the east side of the building and at the corefloor supporting a portion of the street on the west side of the building. The corefloor at these two areas, and the ledge on the precast beam supporting this corefloor, were sloped to minimize the amount of concrete required to tie in to the existing grade. The beauty of the building has been created by 9,600 SF of acid etched architectural precast panels at the perimeter of the main level. The majority of the panels are 12-7 wide x 17 tall with 8-0 wide x 6-8 tall punched windows. Some of these panels are supported on steel gravity tubes embedded in the precast concrete beams while the panels at the banks drive-through are supported on the corefloor. The steel balconies with decorative precast concrete corbels at the second level provide just enough coziness for this building to fit right in amongst the neighboring single-family homes.
